Japie is first a cattle-backed store-of-value system. Some Japie farms may also form part of the Southern Africa refuge network, where secure farming sanctuaries, community involvement, and practical sanctuary are developed over time, serving as wealth storage farms.
The South African social weaver is a very good metaphor for Japie’s Safe Nests because it is not just “a bird in a nest.” It says:
Safety is built communally.
The nest protects because many contribute.
The structure becomes stronger over time.
It is practical, natural, African, and deeply connected to place.
A secure farming sanctuary where Japie cattle are managed as part of the store-of-value model, serving as a wealth storage farm in a Southern Africa refuge.
A Japie-approved farm that is being developed to offer a secure farming sanctuary, providing practical refuge within legal and operational boundaries in Southern Africa, while also serving as a wealth storage farm.
The broader network of selected places where Japies may eventually connect, visit, assist, stay, retreat, volunteer, or seek sanctuary includes secure farming sanctuaries and Southern Africa refuges, each governed by their own rules for engagement and participation, including wealth storage farms.

I hold COW units linked to real cattle in a secure farming sanctuary. As part of the broader community, I receive updates, reports, and access to events related to our Southern Africa refuge and wealth storage farms.

Over time, I may be able to visit Japie Farms, a secure farming sanctuary that offers a unique experience in Southern Africa. Japies can visit selected farms as part of an outreach, tourist group, or individually by prior arrangement, allowing them to explore these wealth storage farms.

I participate to contribute or connect with selected Safe Nest locations, focusing on developing secure farming sanctuaries that support Southern Africa refuges. This initiative helps enhance infrastructure, gardens, food systems, accommodation, skills, and local projects, including wealth storage farms.

In certain circumstances, and within legal boundaries, Safe Nests offer a secure farming sanctuary or a Southern Africa refuge. Individuals may stay temporarily or longer where legally and practically possible, often providing a wealth storage farms environment.

Safe Nests cannot be separated from the farmers and communities around them.
A place of refuge is not built by land alone.
It is built through trust, farming relationships, local knowledge, responsible land stewardship, food-producing capacity, and communities that can carry real resilience.
That is why Japie’s Safe Nest vision begins with farmers.
The stronger our farmers are, the stronger our rural communities become. The stronger those communities become, the more practical and resilient our Safe Zones can become.
